Gisela Riggan joined Prosperity Bank in 2009 as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) during the peak of the financial crisis. As the CIO, Gisela is responsible for leading the Bank’s technology strategy; and overseeing information governance, compliance, and departmental policy. She manages a $43 million IT portfolio.

Under Gisela’s direction, Prosperity has undergone a significant transformation of its technology strategy and architecture, significantly increasing business capabilities and the Bank’s security posture while maintaining an efficiency ratio among the best in the banking industry.

Mrs. Riggan has 30 years of experience in Information Technology, with 23 years in the Finance industry. Gisela started her career as an Information Officer at the United States Embassy in Bolivia. Prior to joining Prosperity, she was Director of Business Application for Franklin Bank, responsible for strategic planning, vendor management, and the PMO office.

Gisela is an active member of the FBI InfraGard Houston division and Houston CIO.

Born and raised in Bolivia, Gisela graduated from the Lycee Francais La Paz-Bolivia, received her French Diploma from the University of La Sorbonne in Paris, and a Bachelor of Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin. She holds various technical and professional certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Information Security Officer (C | CISO) certifications. She is fluent in French, Spanish, and English. During her time off, Gisela enjoys skiing and spending time with her husband, David, and her three children, Nathaniel, Samuel, and Isabella.
