Lars Mahrendorf's IT career started around the turn of the millennium as an IBM IMS system programmer on z/OS at Finanz Informatik, the leading IT provider for saving banks and federal state banks in Germany. After a decade working with IMS, he moved on to a consulting company and helped migrate several customers' applications from z/OS to a Linux-based scheduling solution. At that time, Lars first came into contact with BMC's ControlM. In 2013 Lars began to work at Techniker Krankenkasse, the largest health insurance company in Germany. As a Workload Automation Specialist, Lars has been involved in several migrations from Version 7 onwards. Today, he is responsible for optimizing and modernizing the workload of TK in an effort to help the company in its plan to digitize health insurance and become the best health insurance company in the digital age.. Outside of IT, Lars is a passionate sports fan, especially in hockey, where he is a play-by-play commentator for Swiss TV and hosts his own hockey podcast. If he still has time, he likes to run as well.
